At present, there are mainly the following types of materials, with different characteristics

Solid wood mouldings: It is the main material for interior moldings. It can adapt to almost any room. It is tough and not easy to crack or break. But it is easy to be attacked by insects and easy to rot. The main types of moldings are: Flexible baseboard timber skirting board, Prefinished white FJ molding for paneling, Primed coated door stop casing molding, Interior decorative quarter round shoe molding，Glossy primed pine lattice moulding trim，Dado rail chair rail with paneling and so on

Plaster Mouldings: Won't rot or lose its shape, but may chip if it gets wet. It will last for many years with very little maintenance. However, plaster molds are a bit expensive and difficult to construct.

MDF Mouldings: These are made using compacted sawdust combined with synthetic resin. Compared with solid wood moldings, the cost is relatively low, but it is easily damaged by moisture expansion

In addition to the above materials, there are aluminum, polyurethane, styrofoam and vinyl, which can be suitable for outdoor decoration
